Thommankuthu is a very scenic waterfall near Thodupuzha, in the southern state of Kerala, India and is named after the great hunter, Mr. Thommachen Kuruvinakunnel, who let the world know of this beautiful waterfall in the jungle in the late 1920s. Thommachen also played a big part in the discovery of the site for the Idukki Dam. This panchayat, belonging to Thodupuzha Thaluk in Idukki District, is one of the major eco-tourism centres in Kerala. A song of the Malayalam movie Chattakaari was shot here.
Thommankuthu is located 18 km from Thodupuzha. Nearest towns are Karimannor and Vannappuram and Udumbannoor which are nearly 10 km from Thommankuthu.
Thommankuthu waterfall is a seven - step waterfall located in forest. A trek of 12 km through the forests is possible.

Calm place thommankuthu waterfall.Entry fees to waterfall is rs.20 but it is worthy for everyone. 500 mtrs walkibg to the nature is very beautiful more »

Visited Thommankuthu in May and had to be contented with a small flow of water through the side of the rocks, but the scenery was spectacular! In monsoon, the waterfalls through many huge rocks... more »

The best spot for all ages to hang out and chill . The view is refreshing and very superb . There is a small entry fees but it is worth the time we spend there more »

It is an awesome place... Admist nature and surrounding scenery.. A perfect getaway with family and friends!! The water, the nature, the sun, everything is in perfect bliss!! And definitely the waterfalls will take your.breath way... But be careful but definitely a great place to visit during monsoons!!!! I loved it

Awesome place . But you should go in the rainy season or just after it. Otherwise there will be no water. There is no main entrance like thing. You should look in maps to find the appropriate roads to get there.

Scenic, organized, safe and secure spot to visit with family and kids. Permitted zones are available for swimming and bathing. Changing rooms and coffee shop available. Some nice quality forest products like herbal scrubs and honey available. Very relaxing and nourishing experience at the stream. Very friendly guides and officers (Both men and women).

Perfect place for one day outing and fun with family. Best to visit while rainy seasons, so the water levels will be good. This place is just 25km from thodupuzha and road conditions are pretty good now. 600km walk till the end of water fall.

Thommankuthu is an easy 1.5 hour drive from Cochin. The water fall and the walk along the river is a nice experience. It is still under explored and pristine. Not much in terms of Restaurants, though easy bites etc are available as at End 2018.
