Shanghumukham Beach, Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum)
(3/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Red sands and blue sea draw visitors to Shanghumukham Beach, where you can play sports or sit in a starfish-shaped cafe watching the sun cast its rays over the water. A sculpture of Jalakanyaka, a 35 m (115 ft) long mermaid reposing in a giant shell, attracts kids and adults alike. Very active in the evening, this popular spot can also get very crowded on weekends, so come early if you wish to take advantage of onsite parking. • Hopeless beach, due to the high tide I suppose there is absolutely no beach to enjoy. Not at all well maintained. There is nothing in here for a tourist .
  • When I get bored or my kiddo is desperate to go out ...this is the place which comes to my mind first...The beach(don't except any water sports) were you could just sit and enjoy the view . There are ...  more »
