Built around 1840, the museum building features a typical Kerala pattern of architecture with red mount blocks, clay bricks, and granite with unusual woodwork, all surrounded by a well-manicured park. The museum displays various bronze idols, ancient ornaments, a temple chariot, and ivory carvings with Japanese shadow-play leather figures depicting Mahabharata and Ramayana epics. • Incredible museum. Very well managed and maintained. The surrounding is full of a variety of trees and plants which have nameplates on them identifying the species. The entire area is full of greenery. A very good location to spent an evening.
  • Natural historical museum & zoo trivandrum me dekhane jaisa hai. bachcho ko bahot pasand ayega .
  • Practically the lungs through which the city breathes! Spots many long living trees in its premises in addition to those in the adjacent zoo premises. Over all well kept and tidy, feels secure enough to let loose your kids here.
  • Museum is so beautiful.... Surrounding is so quite clean than other museums ..... 1 can get lot of historic knowledge about Weapons, sculptures, architecture and art forms... Over all good place to hang out with family....
  • Museum as such has very little to see. Interesting artifacts it holds. Worth the meagre entrance fee. No photography allowed inside. One time visit. The place around the museum is occupied by timepassers. Despite warning signs, people sit on the steps around the museum. Good place for birdwatching(not literal birds)
