Examine the rare collection of archeological and historical artifacts at Napier Museum, an art and natural history museum. Built around 1840, the museum building features a typical Kerala pattern of architecture with red mount blocks, clay bricks, and granite with unusual woodwork, all surrounded by a well-manicured park. The museum displays various bronze idols, ancient ornaments, a temple chariot, and ivory carvings with Japanese shadow-play leather figures depicting Mahabharata and Ramayana epics. An art gallery features paintings by celebrated 19th-century Indian painter Raja Ravi Varma. • The first thing that comes to my mind is the prohibition to take pictures that makes me expire the museum. For the rest I remember only a large wooden wagon and various sculptures. Colorful exterior.

  • Beautiful building well worth visiting on its own. The exhibition as usual in India a row of quite nice artifacts on stands with a plack stating type of artifact and age. Almost no storytelling about ...  more »

  • This is an amazing place with the perfect mixture of beauty of architecture and nature. I suggest everybody to visit here during night. The vibe you get here at night is really amazing. The park surrounded by it is well kept clean. People come here morning and evening for walking. The architecture is simply amazing and the museum collections will blow your mind. This place is really amazing
  • Its an eco friendly zoo. I liked the fact that the zoo is plastic free. The security guards will check your bags and will ensure that you don't carry any plastic bags into the zoo. Instead they will provide with paper covers to put your food which i really felt proud to see. If you are carrying water in plastic bottle, you need to deposit 20rs and they will refund you when you return and show the bottle. They will place a sticker on the bottle when you pay the deposit amount. There is a lot to walk in this zoo. But its worth it. You can see lots of animals, birds, reptiles etc. The compound has museum, zoo and art gallery. The tickets are separate for each. Do not be in a hurry when you visit this place. Take your time and experience well.
  • One of the best must visit places in trivandrum.. Part of the culture..also a good place for weekend hangouts..This place has a large number of trees and a good green cover. Also good place for morning and evening walks. There are a few eateries within the compound. There is also a public radio corner with benches and all. There are also parks for children to enjoy themselves (children under the age of 12 can use the playthings)
  • This is one of the very good place to visit here and enjoy the time with your family and friends. we spent very good time here... Good breezy atmosphere which is refreshing.. Good place for meditation calmness,jogging.. There is a zoo and aquarium which is main attraction..
  • Our usual get together place ๐Ÿ’™ the grounds around the museum are great for resting. Best for jogging , preferable time would be early mornings and evenings. Lack of restaurants (budget friendly) are the only drawback. The zoo and art gallery are amusing too. really a nice place and too old
