  • Better to visit this place in early morning or evening. Boating in periyar lake is best activity to do in this place. In pick season better to book your ticket for boating early by online reservation....  more »
  • Having read bad reviews about the boat trip, we decided to replace it with the bamboo rafting (1/2 day). Well this isn't advisable either. We went 5-6 kms, at no charge, through the forest, without seeing anything other than 2 macaques, then stop "picnic" (rice and sauce cold to eat with the fingers) Indian in a shed without toilets. Then, a ride on the Lake in bamboo rafting, at 10 (+ 4 rowers). Short walk to see the elephant of service. Return to rafting and rebelotte at no charge through the forest, all this without a word of explanation. Really disappointing and rather exhausting.

  • Unfortunately, we didn't see much wildlife. We did see, however, two different groups of Indian Bison grazing in the woods. We also saw several varieties of plants during our guided walk.  more »
