Tara Devi Temple, Taradevi

Must see · Religious Site · Tourist Spot
Visit Tara Devi Temple and enjoy sweeping views of the Himalaya valley and verdant peaks beyond. Relax in the peaceful surroundings and serene atmosphere of the temple, built over 250 years ago atop a lush hill. Remember to remove your shoes upon entry to the site, and beware the light-fingered monkeys in the area, who apparently won't hesitate to take your phone. • A lovely place plenty of history and with the hustle and bustle out side it is a place of calm and relation in inside.  more »
  • We stayed closer to an entry to the temple from the mountain base where you could drive or even trek up. We decided to trek it up and boy what a trek. Right through the mountain jungles and woods...  more »

  • Located at a hight of 7200 feet above sea level, this temple true to its name Tara Devi which means goddess of the stars gives you the feeling of driving up to the stars. The upwards climb is pretty arduous but once you reach the top, you have a sight to behold. It is absolutely brilliant looking and well maintained. Definitely worth checking out as the temple in itself is pretty unique.
  • Love this place, road is too stiff. For big vehicle it takes at least five minutes to cross one turning. No overtaking possible during your entire journey. Langar is available and its very good. Be careful with monkeys. It's 7000 feet above sea level.
  • The temple is very beautiful and the wooden architecture stands out. We had gone to see the view, but once we reached on top, the temple was too attractive to miss. It's not very crowded or commerical and is pleasant to walk around and spend some time there.

  • It’s approximately 4 km trek up to the temple. The view is fantasic and the temple is also very beautiful. The best part of the trek is lungar which we get in the temple 😋
