  • This season is very good for having darshan there, start of rainy season.......Queue system is little bad ..... Other than that proper facilities are there for shrines...... And Temple is closed in 3: 30 pm to 4:30pm..... One will feel like to come home to the parents...... I recommend , to visit once atleast.
  • Place of historic and religious importance. Nice drive too to the city from any direction.
  • Jyothirlingam and Shakti Peetam in the same temple The second amongst the 12 Jyothirlingams, Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple is also a Sakthi Peetam. It also has a Sri Chakram in the Sri Bramarambha Devi Moolasthanam. Situated in the picturesque town of Sri Sailam, this is a must visit for all. The temple opens at 04:30 with the Subrapatham and closes at 22:00 with the Ekantha seva at 21:30. One can opt for the 100/- ticket which takes you through the que complexes. Remember to keep to the left lane when you enter the garbhagrigha if you want to be the closest to the Lord or the right most if you want to have a gud view of the Lord as this lane has an elevated platform. The same holds good for darshan at the ambal sannidhi as well. You can also opt for the Abhishekam (cost of 1500/-) and Kunkamarchana (cost of 1000/-) from the ticket counters and would be performed at designated mandapams inside the temple. However the actual Abhishekam / Kunkamarchana for the main dieties would cost 5000/- per couple and entrance for the same would be from the south gopuram. The timings are 05:30; 07:30; 12:30; 19:30. The temple compound has 4 gopurams one each on East, West, South and North entrances, with the East being the main entrance. Both East and West Gopurams have 5 kalasas meaning they are 5 storied, while the South gopuram is the tallest with 7 kalasas. The north gopuram is under renovation. The online bookings are still not fully functional, but one can book the required darshans at the booking counters itself. Accommodation can be booked online either at APTDC website or Sri Sailam Devasthanam website. Overall a must visit for all. Om Nama Shivaye!!!
  • Sorrounded by beautiful forest holy natural place one of twelve jyothira lingam and sakthipedam together
  • This is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Calm place with less crowd than other Jyotirlingas. Here you can experience the nature bountifully.
