Unchalli Falls, also known as Lushington Falls, is a waterfall created by a 116m drop in the Aghanashini river. The fall is located near Siddapur in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka, India. The falls are named for J. D. Lushington, a District Collector for the British Government, who discovered the falls in 1845.Heggarne, a hamlet in Uttara Kannada district, is 35 km from Siddapur. The falls are reached by a 5km trek from Heggarne through thick forest. Here the river makes a cavalcade of water falls and eventually leaps into a steep valley to form a spectacular, picturesque waterfall. The falls are sometimes called Keppa Joga because of the deafening sound they make.

  • One of the wonderful waterfalls in Sahyadri range of Western Ghats, Karnataka. Facilities: View points & steps up to some depth in the valley. During summer, it is possible to reach the base of the falls by trekking 3-4 km along the river. Very few choices of food. Carry your own food. A must visit in Uttara Kannada district.
  • Very remotely located and a breath taking water falls that is a must visit. Very less crowd but has a tough trail. You need to walk for about 2 kms , don't risk taking your vehicle as the muddy slush will make your vehicle stuck. This is the starting point for many trekkers of Kumara Parvatha
  • I am born and brought in the valley. I always remember its deafening sound amidst virgin forest. We, locals call it ' keppa joga' in Kannada language. Keppa: deaf.
