Inspirock Rating:
3.9/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web
A well-preserved structure constructed in 1612, Fort Aguada sits on the mouth of River Mandovi, placed there to fend of the Dutch and the Marathas. Examine how the entire strategic construction is divided into two sections, with the upper part used as a water station and fort, and the lower as a berth for ships. The lighthouse was used to guide ships safely to their docks, until it was abandoned in 1976. Deep inside, discover the escape passage that enabled retreat during war and other emergencies. • Entry is free, the fort is well maintained. The fort is a 17th century fort which was used by the Portuguese. There isn't much to see except the views of the Mandovi river and the Arabian Sea. Can get hot in summer, hats or caps recommended
  • The craft of fortifying re defined on the shore of the Arabian. Awesome place for those who love trekking & bicycle ride. You will also love the bird eye view of the ferries on the sea from the near by lighthouse. And for those social media lovers there are a lot of profile pic points for u.
  • Free entry, good place to have rest and spend leisure time. Sunlight is directly hitting but always always present cool wind.
