Jakhu Temple, Shimla

4.4
At Jakhu Temple, see the red 33 m (108 ft) tall idol of the Hindu deity, Hanuman. Locals believe that Hanuman, also known as the Monkey Lord, brings fortune to those who embark on an uphill trek to reach his sacred refuge. At an altitude of 2,455 m (8,000 ft), the ancient temple also harbors its most peculiar denizens--monkeys--who signify the god's omnipresence. However, be sure to secure all your belongings when you reach the site, because these creatures are known to take anything they can get their hands on. Before leaving the temple, ring the bell for good luck before descending back to the city. • Extraordinary place. Cool and high breeze in summer. Stunning sunrise and sunset experience. Awe-inspiring beauty. Watch out for the monkeys, they are so many of then (also they are naughty & cunning). Fabulous Hanuman Temple with unforgettable statue.
  • Awesome place. Beware of the ferocious monkeys. Rent a stick. Hangman statue of 108 feet is breathtaking. I loved. You can take the photograph.
  • Good place for devotees and nature lovers. Bit too much of monkeys can't complain about it in jakhu hill, it's jakhu temple of course. Beautiful place high and cool. You have a ropeway from here to reach city centre mall road. You will love it.
  • A place so serene and spiritual, you'll definitely feel peace and calmness here. The temple, located on the highest peak in Shimla, hosts many breathtaking and beautiful scenic areas. The sky-high statue of Lord Hanuman adds to its beauty. A must visit place if you are touring Shimla.👍😇
  • A beautiful scenery of whole city come into view from this place and of course due to statue of Lord hanuman of 108 feet
