Ward's Lake, Shillong
Categories: Bodies of Water, Nature & Parks
Visit an artificial lake dating to the colonial period of the area and feel the ambient of lush green gardens and scenic hills reflecting in the surface of the water at Ward's Lake. The story goes that an inmate at a local prison requested some creative release, bored with the labor camp routine, and, when granted the permission, created this lake some 100 years ago. Participate in local activities of swimming and boating. Enjoy a picnic with family and friends among fountains, gardens, and trails. Feed the fish while standing on the bridge on the lake or from rentable boats.
