  • Historically important fort where Maratha warrior king Shivaji killed afjal khan. You can visit afjalkhan's kabar nearby this place... magnificent view from top....don't forget to drink cool chhas n eat bhari/ rice bhakti along with bharit .....simply delicious
  • A bit of a climb .. so a bit hectic for old age people.. but worth a visit down reliving our history.. zunka ( pithla) bhakri and butter milk is so awesome here
  • One of the Famous Fort of Ch. Shivaji Maharaj...Built in 1656.Battle of Pratapgad is most famous in History of Maratha kindom. Fort is stunning, breathtaking, beautiful & historical. After unsuccessful meeting with sardar Afjal Khan,Shivaji killed him at this place which make him very famous. It's 30 km.away from Mahableshwar. You can take guide and taxi from Mahableshwar. August / Sept. is the best time to visit. Because you can play hide and seek with clouds, fog, rain and sunshine. Greenery is amazing. Ghats are stunning. Mahadev temple located at the northwest side of fort is historical and is surrounded by sheer cliffs with the drops of 250 meters. Pratapgad was an important stronghold, had a large garrison, and could suppress much of the country around Wai. A 17 feet high equestrian bronze statue of Shivaji was unveiled by Jawaharlal Nehru.  The fort is currently owned by M.P. Ch.Udayan Raje Bhosale, the heir to the former Satara princely state.
  • It is a fort which has a museum, mata ka mandir and so many stories of its all the virw peaks with some food stalls inside it.
  • Nice place. Being Maratha, any place that belongs to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is must visit place.
