  • This is a really lovely tourist location as well as a splendid and peaceful Buddha monument in Ravangla, South Sikkim, about 3 hours drive from Gangtok. Commissioned by the Government of Sikkim, this beautiful park houses a massive Buddha statue, hundreds of prayer bells, a hall lit with thousands of lamps and a large open park to stroll around. The view of the mountains surrounding it is superb! The Buddha sits on a base which acts as a shrine to the Buddha and its inside walls have murals painted on it which explain the different phases of the life of the Buddha. In the central area are relics of the Buddha that have been collected from shrines and monasteries of many different countries including South Korea, Japan, China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Germany, Canada and the USA. This has been built to be very tourist friendly and amenities abound the park.
  • Prime attraction in Ravangla. Well decorated park with outstanding view. Ambience within the main temple is calm and quiet. Painting on the inside wall is marvelous (photography prohibited). Illuminated in the evening, the Buddha statue can be seen from miles away. Accessible pathways. A battery operated car (chargeable) is useful for elderly and differently abled. You There are couple of gift shops with fair collection. I could see a small cafeteria too. There are ample planned parking outside.
  • Extremely relaxing place... Too gud a location & very well maintained place. Will love visiting again.
