Visit Pataleshwar Cave Temple, a hermetic rock-cut complex dedicated to Hindu deities Pataleshwar and Shiva. Because of its construction during the Rashtrakuta period (700 to 800 CE), the site now enjoys protection as a religious monument. Explore the circular nandi mandapa, a pillared outdoor hall that stands in front of the cave. Outside of the basalt stone entryway hangs a brass bell, while the cube-shaped inner sanctum decorated with symbols of Shiva calls devotees to pray and make offerings. Visit the museum nearby, especially since it houses a peculiar Guinness World Record holder: a single grain of rice with 5,000 characters inscribed on it. • In the cave temple. You can feel the history, all in the description of the Hindi language, was made at any time or not I don't know, but quite old temples. I think the strong religious connotations unlike other temples, glittering statues but there not the place. Tree is at the entrance to the temple is not related is not to be missed.

  • 8th Century Cave Temple The Pataleshwar caves is located on the busy Jangali Maharaj city road in Pune. This 8th Century cave temple is dedicated to Lord Pathaleshwar, God of the underworld. Cut from a single rock, the temple is famous for its massive pillars and large rock cut statues of Nandi, Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and a huge Shivalinga. Visit before 08:30 in the morning or else finding a parking spot will be no less than a herculean task. Also dont miss the Jangali Maharaj temple next to Pathaleshwar temple..
