  • As we entered Patiala City at about 3 PM on 12th October after a 5-hour drive from Delhi airport I advised our driver to first take us to Quila Mubarak first as it could be closed by 5 PM. Driving thr...  more »
  • I have many times been in over the years, Qila Murbarak but now when I was there, I was so happy! They keep on with a restoration of the whole of the big area in the heart of the old Patiala! Finally the old and beautiful buildings taken care of before it is completely destroyed and this bodes well! The area is hidden behind the city wall and consists of several buildings. One of the be done now about to the Heritage Hotel, this is so exciting! The area was used to film recording of the film Sardar for a few years ago. It is still and quiet even though the Bazaar outside is charming chaotic. The Museum has many great paintings, fantastic roof painting, chandeliers, weapons, bill and other objects that are interesting to see. The Museum closing in a month for the restoration. This I think will be a boost for tourism in Patiala and will probably be among the most important to see in North India for those who like architecture and history! Am looking forward to this is completed renovated in all glory:)

  • Similar to most such sites spread across India, it reflects India's splendor lying in royal disgrace and ruins.

  • A wonderful fort that is in a poor state of maintenance. Despite the condition it is well worth a visit. Plus Points: - Historic. - Fantastic architecture, glass doors, carvings, open spaces etc. - Clear of beggars and hawkers as the entry is controlled. - Police presence. - Now under renovation. - Located within the old market which too is worth walking through and photographing. Negative Points: - Over crowded approach. - No nearby parking or guidance for the same. - Strangely only mobile phone photography permitted. No other cameras can be used. laughable restriction. - Closes at 5 PM. - No washrooms or facilities. - Poor state of restoration (in progress). - No sign posting leading to the fort or within. Recommended for a visit despite the outnumbering negative points.
  • Amazing place to visit in patiala. There are lots of old weapons and other real stuff of old kings of patiala in time period of 16s and 17s.
  • Quila Mubarak a Historical National Monument and the oldest part of Patiala. It is one of the prominent tourist attractions of City was Built in 1764 by Maharaja Ala Singh. A huge part of the fort was changed into a heritage museum displaying Weapons, Paintaings, Chandeliers & Vehicles used by the then Royal family. The Quila Complex includes several buildings, namely the Ran Basa, Quila Androon, Darbar Hall, Sard Khana, Jalau Khana, Quila Mubarak Gateway and the boundary walls. Due to negligence Quila buildings loosing its meaning for the Visitors. Now due to renovation work most of the area is restricted to enter except the museum. which will be comleted by August 2016.
  • Nice place to visit. Nice musium of guns & old cars & swords much more to see. Now a days it is close due to maintance. So you can only visit musium.
  • one of the most busyiest areas of Patiala.
