Old Goa, Panjim
(4.3/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
Experience the history of the once-Portuguese colony that rivaled European capitals with its splendor and wealth at Old Goa, a World Heritage Site. The city steadily grew long before the Portuguese arrived in 1510, but after the conquest, the port city simply bloomed. Visit the Se Cathedral, the largest church in Asia, which took 80 years to complete. The ancient market sites here represent that area where traders once came from China, Arabia, and Africa to trade in silk, spices, and incense. Walk through Rua Direita where shops and palatial villas once decorated the main avenue. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Old Goa by using our Goa vacation route planner.

  • Old goa is a great place to be visited once if you are in goa, nice old and architecturalto be visited .
  • In panaji traveled several times to the scooters from Calangute. First time lost on the road, came to a town, it turned out that this Mapusa, i.e., from Calangute a good hook. Ask in Mapusa, in what direction to go in panaji-all waving, ask, do not understand. I am in despair, stand in a maelstrom of transport and which way to go at all is not clear. I got a local eventually baffled local cried-Panjim! Panjim! and demonstrated for some way to go. In panaji went to buy clothes, in the Centre of the city there are brand shops, we have studied them in Moscow online, so arranged yourself shopping. But already on another occasion in panaji came to play in the Casino. I have a hobby is, which country would not come necessarily going to the Casino. Officially prohibited in the territory of India to open a casino, but too many of them. And all because of shrewd businessmen bypassed the law-you cannot build on earth so on water nobody banned!)), so almost all the casinos are on small ships along the coast, you're taken to them by boat. As if the law is not violated, and Casino wherever possible. Just went to casinos, which are in the coolest hotels in panaji. you do not need to reside in them, just kindly ask how to get to a casino and hold you there. By the way, all the shopping, repulsed once won RS 11000, understand that this is a fairly big in Goa. The city itself is a topsy-turvy, goofy, us is not foolproof, but for the tourist an atmosphere as you are on holiday and for you around an endless Bazaar. I liked everything. Especially yourself to ride there on scooters, mad movement, place unknown, all incomprehensible, go, oresh', rugaesh'sja, but no matter what it is not traded!
