Part of the monumental Orchha Complex, Raja Mahal is one of four monuments that is part of this palace. Constructed during the 16th century, it’s English name is the ‘King’s Palace’ where it was where the kings and queens would reside. Explore the interiors to get a taste of history and culture as it is decorated with murals depicted Lord Vishnu and ornate wall carvings situated throughout the temple which is a contrast to the simplified architecture on the outside. The temple layout and placement of windows was designed in a way to allow "sunlight and shadow create areas of different moods and temperatures throughout the day".
