Chhatris Cenotaphs, Orchha
(4.5/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Explore the memorials dedicated to the town's historical kings at Chhatris Cenotaphs, which stand next to an ancient temple on the river Betwa. Constructed between the 17th and 18th century in the regional Bundelkhand architectural style, these highly ornamented cenotaphs represent triple-storied tombs with temple-like features. Explore the ancient streets where time has stood still, and examine a total of fourteen cenotaphs built on spots where each royal was cremated. The most popular memorial, Vir Singh Deo, has a distinguishable design that attracts the majority of tourists. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Orchha holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Chhatris Cenotaphs and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • If you are in Orchha then you have to see this from as many angles as possible. This is the most beautiful place to be in orchha. The Sunrise & sunset scenes are amazing.
  • Set of several cenotaphs in a garden well maintained. Haven of peace and quiet. The brave can climb stairs (very erratic markets) in some to admire the river Betwa close.
