Historic Site Tourist Spot
See a moving memorial to the father of the nation at Raj Ghat. Situated at the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated, the memorial consists of a stone footpath that leads visitors through well-maintained lawns to a walled enclosure. In the enclosure sits a black marble platform, exposed to the elements and with an eternal flame burning at one end. Take off your footwear before entering the enclosure to pay your respects to the leader of the Indian independence movement. With our online itinerary creator, New Delhi attractions like Raj Ghat can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Where to stay in New Delhi

New Delhi contains some of India's finest and most popular hotels, catering to business travelers and well-heeled tourists. For budget accommodations, consider the neighborhood of Paharganj, just west of the New Delhi railway station. Noisy and packed with peddlers of every kind, the area offers some of the least expensive rooms located relatively near major attractions. Guesthouses serve as the city's best mid-range option, with new ones constantly springing up to satisfy the growing number of visitors. Always call or visit the website in advance to check on prices and amenities included.

  • Lots of green field with varity of trees. There's a beautiful lake inside. You can spend wonderful time in serenity. No entry fee. Only security check. Opening times : April to September 5 am to 7:30 pm October to march 5 am to 7 pm Car Parking is just opposite the entrance of Raj Ghat main gate. It's free.
  • Nice place. The view is gr8. U have to walk barefooted inside. But in summers its very hot and there isno water inside
  • I myself with Mr Rana Roy come here to visit here. Very beautiful place, good looking view from every corner, sweet breeze if you rest under tree. You can come with friends and family.
  • Place with tons of historical importance and aura to it. But let me tell you, it's one of the prettiest and serene places I have happened to visit in NCR. It's lush green and beautiful.
  • Well kept. You need to walk barefoot inside. Its difficult during the summer and they have provided rubber mats which also gets heated up thus failing the purpose. Suggest to use coir mats.
