Raj Ghat, New Delhi

(4.1/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
See a moving memorial to the father of the nation at Raj Ghat. Situated at the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated, the memorial consists of a stone footpath that leads visitors through well-maintained lawns to a walled enclosure. In the enclosure sits a black marble platform, exposed to the elements and with an eternal flame burning at one end. Take off your footwear before entering the enclosure to pay your respects to the leader of the Indian independence movement. With our online itinerary creator, New Delhi attractions like Raj Ghat can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Monument made in honor of Mahatma Ghandi, also called tomb of Gandhi, is the moon where the cremation of the father of India took place in 1948. It is a structure of black marble decorated with flowers predominantly orange. You can see a flame lit the eternal flame is in charge of a priest called. It is the calizado in a large garden, very quiet with well-kept lawn. Is breathes an environment very emotional by the importance historical of Ghandi not only for his country but for the world. I recommend a visit.

  • Gandhi would have approved. This is an understated garden for contemplation, rather than a fancy monument. We loved it.
  • This is a wonderful quiet place, away from the hustle and bustle of the city to reflect on India's founding father. A truly inspiring man and a must see.
