National Gandhi Museum, New Delhi
(4.3/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Get to know the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi at National Gandhi Museum. The collections began shortly after his assassination in 1948, and after several relocations, the museum was finally settled in its present location in 1961. Be sure to check out the library, a huge showcase of works from Gandhi and other authors adding up to over 35,000 documents and books. You do not need to be an art lover to enjoy the gallery, which features paintings and other items of Gandhi's. Keep an eye out for his walking stick, shawl, and dhoti worn when he was assassinated. You can also inspect Gandhi's ivory toothpick, and even one of the bullets used to kill the famous leader. • This building, grounds, and exhibits inside are truly a must see. The series of panels as you first walk in tells much of Gandhi's history, and that of the independence and freedom fighters of India. Definitely take time to walk along these panels and read. And inside the building ,creative exhibits about Gandhi's life, with a nice effort to make his history and life accessible for people. The small library at the back of the house is really worth a visit and there are books available for purchase. must visit.
