Specialty Museum
Get to know the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi at National Gandhi Museum. The collections began shortly after his assassination in 1948, and after several relocations, the museum was finally settled in its present location in 1961. Be sure to check out the library, a huge showcase of works from Gandhi and other authors adding up to over 35,000 documents and books. You do not need to be an art lover to enjoy the gallery, which features paintings and other items of Gandhi's. Keep an eye out for his walking stick, shawl, and dhoti worn when he was assassinated. You can also inspect Gandhi's ivory toothpick, and even one of the bullets used to kill the famous leader. • Small museum but very informative. Many old pictures and objects that were used by gandhi. It also has the blood stained cloth that he was wearing when he go shot. Free entrance so you can spend 30 minutes or so no problem.
  • Its a nice play for outing. If you live history you will find many interesting thing here. Like old telephone in which mahatma gandhi is giving his speech . It a awesome place it you have visited raj ghat then you should visit this place too.
  • I thought I knew quite a bit about Gandhi, but this museum exposed my ignorance. Lots of old photographs arranged chronologically so you can see how his thinking developed. The display of spinning wheels was rather odd, as there were sophisticated machines represented, too. Not so Gandhian. The philatelic exhibit was very well put together. Staff keen to answer questions. No security at all.
  • Very calm place with few visitors. Museum can be definitely improved. It lacks the lustre of Indira Gandhi museum
  • A very calm and cool atmosphere fit for all study, survey and research with efficient staff with guiding capability. We get the requisite informative guidance to locate the desired material available here.
