Mughal Garden, New Delhi

4.5
#4 of 23 in Parks in New Delhi
Displaying Persian-style architecture, Mughal Garden was built by the Mughals and displays water features and open, rectangular spaces. Running water plays an important part in the park's design, shown in pools, fountains, and canals. A variety of trees and flowers bloom along stone walkways, but guards do not usually let people sit and loiter. The park is not always open to the public, so check the schedule before your visit. Also, try arriving early to avoid long lines at the entrance. Plan your Mughal Garden visit and explore what else you can see and do in New Delhi using our New Delhi trip itinerary planning tool .

  • Mughal Garden is good place for garden lover. Lot of species of flowers and plants there inside the garden. Some other feature includes pools, fountains and canals inside the garden. This garden has spread over 15 acres. Rose remains a key feature of the Mughal Gardens even today. The Gardens boasts of growing 159 celebrated varieties of roses which blossom primarily in the month of February and March.
  • For being the Garden of the First Indian, this indeed is a huge piece of architecture which not only house the best of exotics in India but also some of the unique & endangered species of flora across the garden. Obviously the security is tight, and it is better for one to go through the factsheet/brochure as well as the security guidelines to make your way into the gardens. Note: Please confirm the timings and events before your arrival and it is always better to plan your visit in advance as the security guidelines and the festivities sometimes modify or even change the whole schedule.
  • One the best garden in Delhi situated in the lawns of the president house with N numbers of varieties of tress plants birds butterfly etc. This place is easy to reach via metro bus or private vehicle. Spread over a very large area with great environment. It's a nice place to visit with family friends and childrens. Sometimes if you lucky you may get a chance to a snap Chat with the Mr. President.
  • Very beautiful..... The Mughal Gardens are situated at the back of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, incorporate both Mughal and English landscaping styles and feature a great variety of flowers. The Rashtrapati Bhavan gardens are open to the public in February every year. Main garden: Two channels running North to South and two running East to West divide this garden into a grid of squares. There are six lotus shaped fountains at the crossings of these channels. Whereas the energetic fountains rising up to a height of 12 feet (3.7 m) create a soothing murmur that enthralls the visitor, the channels are so tranquil in their movement that they seem frozen. In the channels at appropriate times of day can be seen reflections of the imposing building and the proud flowers. There are wooden trays placed on stands in the centre of the channels where grain is put for the birds to feed upon. Terrace garden: There are two longitudinal strips of garden, at a higher level on each side of the Main Garden, forming the Northern and Southern boundaries. The plants grown are the same as in the Main Garden. At the centre of both of the strips is a fountain, which falls inwards, forming a well. On the Western tips are located two gazebos and on the Eastern tips two ornately designed sentry posts.
  • This is one of the best gardens of New Delhi or you can say India. But there is limited area is accessible for visitors. As it opens for few days every year and that is why lots of crowd is there on weekends. Only beautiful part is Flowers and Gardening. Parking facility is not there, long queue for entry. You will feel like a degraded citizen after visiting this garden. President house is not accessible and only viewing from outside feels like king and subject of the nation.
