Where to stay in New Delhi

New Delhi contains some of India's finest and most popular hotels, catering to business travelers and well-heeled tourists. For budget accommodations, consider the neighborhood of Paharganj, just west of the New Delhi railway station. Noisy and packed with peddlers of every kind, the area offers some of the least expensive rooms located relatively near major attractions. Guesthouses serve as the city's best mid-range option, with new ones constantly springing up to satisfy the growing number of visitors. Always call or visit the website in advance to check on prices and amenities included.

  • LIvely market with a lot of great grocery stores and restaurants . One of the most expensive retail spaces in the country. Also houses the famous light market of Khan Market in a nearby building which is a one stop shop area for all lighting requirements. Khan Market has the reputation of being quite expensive and it is so. Lot of expensive (and pretty) places to eat and drink here.
  • Delhi's own spin on the strip mall concept, Khan market is home to both hipster friendly hangouts and streetwise dining options. Charming in its own way, and a uniquely evolving part of an ancient city.
  • Good posh market. I went to buy lights for my house. And also ate food at Khan chacha which is famous for its rolls.
  • The marketplace complex is situated in Central Delhi and is very well connected to all the major areas of the city. This place has some of the best eateries and pubs in the town.
  • Good number of restaurants. Prices are little bit on higher side. Various restaurants will try to lure you but its a trap. Remember you can even leave the retaurant untill you have placed your order. Whatever is told to you or shown to you before entering the restaurant make sure its true once you have entered the restaurant. Most of these restaurants will charge 10% service charge but their service is pathetic. If you spend Rs1000 you will have to pay 100 Rs as tip which i consider too high considering kind of service being offered.
