Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in Delhi, India, is a multipurpose sports arena hosting football and other sporting events, as well as large-scale entertainment events. It is named after the first Prime Minister of India.The all-seater facility seats 60,254 spectators, and up to 100,000 for concerts. In terms of seating capacity, it is the fourth largest multipurpose stadium in India and the 51st largest in the world. The stadium complex also houses the headquarters of the Sports Authority of India, the field arm of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and Indian Olympic Association .HistoryThe Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was constructed by the Government of India to host the 9th Asian Games in 1982, following which it hosted the 1989 Asian Championships in Athletics and the 2010 Commonwealth Games. In preparation for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the stadium reduced its capacity from 78,000 to 60,254 spectators.ConcertsThe stadium played host to Amnesty International's Human Rights Now! Benefit Concert on 30 September 1988. The show was headlined by Sting and Peter Gabriel, and also featured Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tracy Chapman, Youssou N'Dour, and Ravi Shankar.

  • It's a biggest stadium of India and is very old. It is basically for the athletics and other outdoor activities but it is also used for the bug functions and cultural events.

  • Very good running track. All kinds of sports available except shooting and a few others. Maintenance may seem like an issue here. Fee is quite low. Wooden badminton court but the roof is bit on the lower side and it is overcrowded.
  • Jawaharlal international stadium is located in kaloor it's also known as JNI Stadium, Stadium is maintained by GCDA greater cochin development authority, you can also see a Kerala cricket association office in the complex, international cricket matches, Indian premier league and football matches will be played here. Proposed metro station is only 100 mtrs from the stadium. Nearest railway station 2 km. Airport is Cochin international airport which will be 24 KM from stadium
  • Very ill kept multi million dollars stadium. Pathetic and dreadful washrooms. Too many stray dogs. Its in a pitiable state and authorities are just not bothered to do anything.
