It's a biggest stadium of India and is very old. It is basically for the athletics and other outdoor activities but it is also used for the bug functions and cultural events.
The best that india has. Although it's still not the standards that Should be expected from a country like India but its been improving. This was the ground which hosted the CWG 2010. All throughout the year, from budding sportsmen to full fledged national and international level athletes come here for practise or events. Toilets need to be maintained better.
It is a multipurpose stadium having Running track, can be used as Football field etc. Commonwealth Games 2010 opening ceremony was held at this stadium. This stadium is engineering marvel I must say. It's so huge that it can be viewed from distant places like Mayur Vihar metro station and Nizamuddin Flyover. When we look at it from outside, it looks like a white flower. I personally witnessed a football match here. That was an ultimate experience. Hope to have more games and sports here in future.
Very bad experience. Unhygienic toilet, bad seats, no proper space, even packaged foods are sold more than MRP. U may find difficult to find ur seats and the entrance gate as there is no sign board or anything.
A beautiful stadium is being spoiled by management. It has to be open for general public to play games. Sitting and parking are poor. Only good for vvips.
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is one of the most beautiful stadium in Delhi. One thing you will be surprised, is the peace around stadium inspite of crowded area nearby. Atmosphere near stadium is quiet good and you will find people jogging around. Players, roaming around stadium, also used to add extra spice. One important thing for all bank aspirants is, ICICI bank used to take all interview in NBCC building which is very nearby from this stadium. So if you are coming for interview then you can take Auto for JN Stadium as well.
