Must see · World heritage site · Architectural Building · Religious Site
Marvel at one of the nation's most renowned mausoleums at Humayun's Tomb, a World Heritage Site displaying a fusion of both Mughal and Persian architectural features. Built in 1565 on orders from Akbar, the son of the Emperor Humayun, the mausoleum represents the first in a long line of "garden-tombs" that defined Mughal architecture over the following centuries. You can admire the intricate red sandstone and white marble construction, topped with an impressive dome, as you wander the extensive grounds dotted with shrines and monuments. Enter the memorial to get a glimpse of Humayun's final resting place. Many of the architectural designs used on the tomb and its surrounding buildings helped to inspire the Taj Mahal. • One of most Historic and incredible icon of India... Security is a great issue here... No rules and regulations. The token facility is just a showoff, the people hired there for maintaining security are misusing there authority as its their own property. A reliable, sensible & dutiful authority must check this issue here. Peace✌

  • One of the best testimony to mughal architecture the place is vast and the engravings here are as good as it gets. The place is well maintained. Try getting here by evening it's best time to visit the place. The entry ticket cost for Indians is 40 rs in cash or 35 rs if you use a card. For foreigners it's 600 rs in cash or 550 in card. Entry for children under the age of 14 is free.
  • Its an amazing place to be in. Very Beautiful, Peaceful Place, With fewer people visiting. Its also a photographers paradise. You can take some amazing snaps.  There are birds on the trees and several lovebirds in the garden and tomb. Its bang on a very busy road and the approach is not that good. You have to keep left on the main road and take a slip road to enter the monument. You wont be allowed to take left from the congested red light. And there are no traffic signs. So much so for tourism.
  • This was one of the best places I have visited Represents Rich architectural values. Best if you are hear at 4pm and you can also visit early in the morning. I managed to click some of my best pictures here
