Marvel at one of the nation's most renowned mausoleums at Humayun's Tomb, a World Heritage Site displaying a fusion of both Mughal and Persian architectural features. Built in 1565 on orders from Akbar, the son of the Emperor Humayun, the mausoleum represents the first in a long line of "garden-tombs" that defined Mughal architecture over the following centuries. You can admire the intricate red sandstone and white marble construction, topped with an impressive dome, as you wander the extensive grounds dotted with shrines and monuments. Enter the memorial to get a glimpse of Humayun's final resting place. Many of the architectural designs used on the tomb and its surrounding buildings helped to inspire the Taj Mahal. • When you visit it make sure you look at their English history display room. It explains the history very nicely of who was he and history around it. Worth seeing.

  • It is full of beautiful history well worth a visit. We took lots of amazing photos and enjoyed the views.
  • Great place, nice architecture, but no trampolines. Seriously, a palace with no trampolins??? Also a great place to bury a body. In my native language, Taj Mâhhàl translates roughly to "Trampoolie Body Burial". Very misleading title.
  • The walls you can clime and tuch everything with out damaging anything the gardens are being revived as soon as the rains come back to deley thay will be something to be hold in joyed it a great deal
  • Well have recently visited TAj and that's when we got to know about this place which was the inspiration behind Taj or can say was the blueprint of Taj. A beautiful monument that is so clean and houses a museum to boast of the rich mughal history. Well maintained lawns which are lush green makes it an ultimate destination for a visit with the kids. If you want to enjoy this place try to visit it in the early hours or you may also join the Humayun tomb walks that happen early morning everyday at 7
  • Very beautiful, reconstruction work for the structures in the complex is still underway. It was the inspiration for the Taj Mahal, and has a remarkabley similarity. Be sure to visit the other structures in the complex as well.
  • A Good place in Delhi to hang out with friends and family. It is like the replica of the Taj Mahal (& I think it's older than Taj Mahal)
