Built in 1928 by a member of the esteemed Birla family, who often welcomed Gandhi into his home, the building was sold to the Indian government in 1971. Today it stands as a memorial and museum dedicated to the life of Gandhi and his last moments on Earth. Take a tour of the house and grounds to admire numerous items from his life, or view the "Martyr's Column," a monument marking the exact spot in the garden where he was standing when he was shot. • Am oasis of calm in the center of Delhi's madness. This is the place Gandhi was assassinated. The simple museum and displays are very moving. The man walked his talk. Sit in silence in the gardens and contemplate his message and it's relevance today. This was my highlight in Delhi.

  • Very educational and moving. Really cool that they have all of Gandhi's last belongings, including his iconic glasses. There was an artsy exhibit upstairs that we didn't quite understand though, but everything else was great. You could easily spend quite some time reading all the panels and exhibits.
  • Such a peaceful place. You feel as if Gandhi just wandered off for a while and will be back. The dioramas depicting the life of Ghandi were very well done and told you about his struggles and how he became a champion for Indian personal freedom. Very interesting place, well worth the visit
  • It's awesome. One of the must visit memorials in Delhi. Please spend at least 2 to 5 hours that will help you to understand every moment of mahatma Gandhi life . We couldn't spend more than an hour due less time. In first floor, you will find all the explanations narrated with modern technology. Thanks to the Guide who explained everything for us .
