Pay a visit to Gandhi Smriti, the house where Mahatma Gandhi spent the last months of his life, before being assassinated here in 1948. Built in 1928 by a member of the esteemed Birla family, who often welcomed Gandhi into his home, the building was sold to the Indian government in 1971. Today it stands as a memorial and museum dedicated to the life of Gandhi and his last moments on Earth. Take a tour of the house and grounds to admire numerous items from his life, or view the "Martyr's Column," a monument marking the exact spot in the garden where he was standing when he was shot. • Peaceful | Part of History | Enriching. Gandhi Smriti is one of the few hidden gems in Delhi. Has great artifacts based on Gandhi's life and his messages. I went there quite a few times. Even if you are not aware of the Gandhi's life and his part in making us independent, then also this place is a must visit. Among the constant chaos and noise in Delhi, this place will bring peace and enrichment in you.
  • One of the most beautiful, evergreen, gorgeous place that i have visited in delhi is this Museum of Sir Mahatma Gandhi ji. I just visited just because my auto driver took me here, but then inside i saw the places which i have never even imagined in my entire life. I saw the place where Mahatma Gandhi ji walked lastly in his life. Inside the house you can see his Pens,Rooms,His Specs, dress, the Handwriting of Gandhiji via Digital Museum. The Garden will steal your heart for sure ❤. Wherever u turn u can see trees plants and only greenish environment. Eventhough it was 46deg around 1pm it just felt like 20deg weather inside the garden. Then u can see the books used by him,
  • Must visit place for everyone. One cam easily feel the positivity and spiritual peace at the place. Gandhi museum and informations regarding last two hours of Gandhi ji's life captures you. You can buy something from souvenir shop. Very well maintained too.

It is the location where Mahatma Gandhi spent the last 144 days of his life and was assassinated on 30 January 1948. It was originally the house of the Birla family, Indian business tycoons. It is now home to the Eternal Gandhi Multimedia Museum, which was established in 2005.[1]
  • Get to know more about the father of the Indian nation. The museum and grounds are kept in meticulous order and there is much to see and learn about this truly amazing man. There are also interactive display that showcase his vision and present a tour of his life.
