  • Great place to visit on a quiet afternoon. Specially in winters. The collections can improve of course , but worth a visit to get to see handicrafts. There was an exhibition on the best president award winning crafts when i visited and it was great. The museum shop is worth a visit to pick up some artifacts and shawls/stoles/ ethnic jackets etc. Prices can be a bit higher than in other markets but feeling of buying genuine articles helps. Shop closes by 5 pm which is disappointing. The restaurant attached to this museum ( open till 11 pm) is great and loved the curated dishes from across India ..Like the minimalist/artsy decor! Good place to spend a day . Suggest visit on weekdays if you want to avoid the rush of busloads of tourists/school children on weekends.
  • This exemplary complex a relative newcomer on the Delhi cultural scene, gives a fabulous view of India's multifarious crafts. Innovatively designed by contemporary Indian architect Charles Correa, the museum is meant to resemble an Indian Street, with tiled roofs courtyards, Shrines, passages and carved doors. Leave penalty of time to explore the village dwellings and don't miss the excellent, well priced selection of handicrafts in the shop.

  • If you love stories and history, and somewhat interested in crafts and mythology, this is the perfect place for you. However Lota Cafe is a bit expensive.
