Birla Mandir Temple (Lakshmi Narayan), New Delhi

4.2
At Birla Mandir Temple (Lakshmi Narayan), thousands of devotees fervently practice their religion and host Hindu festivals. Inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, the temple, spread over an area of 3 hectares (7.5 acres), was built between 1933 and 1939. The architecture exhibits influences of the principles of the Swadeshi (India independence) movement, also known as the Modern Indian Architecture Movement. Look for the adorned carvings that depict the scenes of the Hindu mythology, and visit the side temples dedicated to Shiva, Krishna, and Buddha. • Free access, tip or not for the goalkeeper. Very nice temple where you have to take off your shoes and put phone and camera in a locker locked. At 10: 00 a.m. weekdays almost person, it was very nice just like the garden behind. Once out of the enclosure you can take photos from the gardens, but I advise you to cross the road for a great shot.

  • It is dedicated to lord lakshminarayan and other hindu lord idols are here. Nice and clean temple. Usually always crowded in weekends and festival time. Nice garden and kid play area too.  more »
  • This large, modern Hindu temple built in Aryan style of red sandstone and white marble. At the entrance to the temple there is a room for tourists, where you will be asked to remove your shoes and leave the phone and camera in the cell at Castle-this tells a security guard, who then output will be begging a trifle. Entrance is free of charge. In Sunday's very crowded.
