Architectural Building
An ancient and important Hindu site, Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple draws worshippers from across the country. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple sits at the source of a long river, itself considered sacred in the Hindu world. One of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva (where he reportedly appeared as a column of light), the complex features dark stone buildings carved in traditional Hemadpanthi style and dating back to the 18th century. Its centerpiece, a linga representing Brahma, Vishnu, and Rudra, bears a crown of precious jewels, displayed briefly once a week. The central pool that flows into the river has been surrounded by arched verandas, where families of worshippers wait to cleanse themselves in the sacred water. • The temple is old and the architecture is good. The central dome is the highlight of the temple along with the main idols which is always flowing with water from the river Godavari.  more »

  • After visiting Nasik and its Ghats the short journey to Trimbakeshwar allows to approach the hills from which was born the Holy River Godaveri. Many steps to achieve this. The temple of Shiva is great and there is great fervour. Inside the city there is an enclosure sacred with many small temples offering interesting scenes

  • Every year I visit this Place. Nature had blessed this place but I feel Temple management has to be more friendly with people. Pushing devotee s in Line is a common scene. Cleanliness is other issue. Cow s are roaming on street so the stray dog. .Roads are wide enough. After kumbhmela. But overall it required a makeover.
  • The temple is beautiful and truly amazing but the management of the temple is terrible .First the say that phones are not allowed but when you enter the premises you can see that many of them are taking selfies, ask the guards why they are allowed with phones the guards say that "voh toh VIP pass vaale hai" . The flowers you buy from outside the temples are thrown in a dustbin. No respect for anything
  • Feeling Blessed, after visiting the Ancient temple of SIVA. It is one among the 12 Jyotirling's in India, which we must visit. Trimbakeshwar is a famous holy place for Indian devotees. It is a pleasant and peacefull place too, surrounding western ghats all round. It is splendid and wonderfull experience, to get Darshan of SIVA..
  • Trimbakeshwar is a religious center having one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The extraordinary feature of the Jyotirlinga located here is its three faces embodying Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra. Due to excessive use of water, the linga has started to erode. It is said that this erosion symbolizes the eroding nature of human society. The Lingas are covered by a jeweled crown which is placed over the Gold Mask of Tridev (Brahma Vishnu Mahesh). The crown is said to be from the age of Pandavs and consists of diamonds, emeralds, and many precious stones. The crown is displayed every Monday from 4-5 pm (Shiva). All other Jyotirlingas have Shiva as the main deity. The entire black stone temple is known for its appealing architecture and sculpture and is at the foothills of a mountain called Brahmagiri. Three sources of the Godavari originate from the Brahmagiri mountain.
  • Two Star For Bad Mangement Holy Place....Must Visit. Har Har Mahadeo.....!!!
