  • Overall a long exhausting trek but once you reach the top of this place its nothing but rewarding. A beautiful place and a must visit for any trekking enthusiast.
  • Harihar fort(also known as Harsh gad) lies in the Trimbakeshwar range. Harihar Fort is 1,120.44 meters (3,676 feet) above sea-level. The last 200 feet of the hike is a nerve-racking climb through stee...  read more »

  • Harihar fort or harsghad lies in the triambakeshwar region at an altitude of 1000m (as per my mobile GPS compass). The thrilling part of this trek is the stairs carved on the rock sheet at very steep inclined angle with the width of just 1meter. People with vertigo may fear to get down as it looks scary from the top but no need to fear if getting down in reverse position like we get down on the ladder. Also on the corners there is a patch which gives grip for the fingers while climbing up/down. After reaching the top there is a very small peak to climb. Enjoy the landscape of the beautiful triambak range as well as the Vaitarna Reservoir. Baskarghad or Basgad fort is adjacent to harihar and has the same base i.e. nirgudpada village. Food is a very limited option over here so carry your own packed food. On weekends refreshments like lemonade, cucumber etc. are available on the trail. If you need a homemade lunch try to arrange it with any of the villagers. We went to Kasara Railway station at mid night hours and took a private vehicle to Nirgudapa village. If relying on public transport prefer this route: kasara – khodala – nirgudpada.
  • A bit difficult for first time trekkers. You need to start before 8am if you really want to enjoy the cool breeze atop Harihar fort. But once you reach the fort, its an awesome feel. Beware of the local children. We lost a camera a lens albeit due to our own carelessness !
  • Jai Shivaji Jai Bhavani Har Har Mahadev
  • very adventure place for tracking. one of hard ford in Nashik to track. One day return journey of tracking. Nice nature scenario are seen from fort.
  • I dont know why it is not famous, may be its a hidden gem. Reaching base village can be difficult but all the hardship pays off when you see that carved steps.
