Mukteshwar Temple, Nainital
(4.4/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Take a long winding road up to Mukteshwar Temple--perched at 2,286 m (7,500 ft), it affords spectacular views of the jagged, snow-capped Himalayan ranges. During fruiting season the surrounding orchards bear apples, peaches, and pears, which you can pluck right from the tree. Religious pilgrims will probably find more to enjoy here than others, meditating and praying in this majestic and remote place. Still, casual visitors can appreciate the hikes with striking vistas, as well as the chance to observe birds of prey as they scour the ground for a meal (bring your binoculars). Plan your Mukteshwar Temple visit and explore what else you can see and do in Nainital using our Nainital vacation trip planner.

  • Awesome place. I enjoyed the journey with my family. Temple is the main attraction.
  • One of the best place in Uttarakhand. The temple has a history of more than 300 years and the priest is very calm and polite. Must Hire a Guide to know more about the place. Eat Maggi and Nimbu Soda when you are done with your pooja. The pooja essentials are overpriced at the entrance and there is only one seller. TRY TO CARRY THEM WHEN YOU START YOUR JOURNEY. Must visit Chaul Ki Jaali and do adventurous activities like rapling , zipline and rock climbing. Costs around 200- 500 bucks.
  • I love this place. Away from crowd and city located on almost 2000m. Must vist. Temple is old and preserved.
