Mukteshwar Temple, Nainital
Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Take a long winding road up to Mukteshwar Temple--perched at 2,286 m (7,500 ft), it affords spectacular views of the jagged, snow-capped Himalayan ranges. During fruiting season the surrounding orchards bear apples, peaches, and pears, which you can pluck right from the tree. Religious pilgrims will probably find more to enjoy here than others, meditating and praying in this majestic and remote place. Still, casual visitors can appreciate the hikes with striking vistas, as well as the chance to observe birds of prey as they scour the ground for a meal (bring your binoculars). A very nice nd serene place of Lord Shiva where Pandavas while leaving this world prayed here for their Mukti. Hence the name Mukteshwar.
It feels like you are out of the world when you reach there. Great place to visit. One should go there if like to see nature closely.
There is nothing much happening in the Mukteshwar Temple.. it's a small temple. But the way from nainital is worth going for. It covers many small places with great beauty and site seeings.
