An amazing location for a quick getaway from mysore
Splendid effort by the Khoday Foundation. God bless them to fulfill this endeavor successfully. It is very sad that the idol of the main deity is missing. It is said that sculptors always made the idol of the temple deity in triplicate. One of them was installed in the temple and the other two were secretly buried elsewhere especially for replacement in case of damage or theft during invasions. The locations were inscribed either on the thumb of the installed idol or elsewhere in the temple using codes. There are many instances where people have found idols while digging land for various purposes. My sincere prayers to Lord Venugopalaswamy to shower his blessings on his devotees and show up miraculously.
