Kempty Falls, Mussoorie

2.6
#1 of 33 in Parks in Dehradun District
At Kempty Falls, immerse yourself in the natural wonders which surround this perennial waterfall. Named after elaborate British tea parties, the falls became a popular picnic spot about 1835. Bring your swimsuit to dive under its cascades (but remember to carry an extra set of clothing). If you intend to fish, stop by the sacred river Yamuna, which is 12 km (7.5 mi) from the falls. You will need a permit from the Divisional Forest Officer to fish. You'll find food and game stalls around the area, as well as souvenir shops where you can purchase a Tibetan memento. • It was okay. A Bit crowded though. At places there was a lot of litter too. The government and people, if they want, can develop it a lot better  more »
  • The fall is nice but overhyped. It is really shameful that There is so much trash thrown at the base of the falls.  more »

  • Nice place to visit on less crowded off season days for better experience as location is constrained by nearby eateries and food stalls. Also cable car available for return journey but not much of distance even by foot. Free public parking available at one end of the road.
  • Great place to visit. Had lots of fun. Must visit in winters we missed snow fall but definitely you will not. Great fall and great scenes around there. Adventure park was also good and safe place for children also. Want to visit there again during snow fall. Enjoyed every moment there.
  • Kempty fall is picturesque landscape with two water currents flowing over the rock makes in mesmerizing to watch and soothe in cool breeze. This place is maintained for tourists and gets crowded during the season. To reach the fall you need to walk down to a mile of distance which is accessed by pathways, it gets little harder to come back because of slight hilly terrain.
  • We visited this place in winters and as it was very cold, crowd was a little less than other times. It is a good scenic place far from city crowds and one can spend some quality time with friends and family. There are many small eateries around offering local food.
  • I saw drastic change since my last visit 10 years ago. It is now more organized and better tourist place to visit. Water park is a nice place to visit with family. Kids will really like it.👍👍
