At Kempty Falls, immerse yourself in the natural wonders which surround this perennial waterfall. Named after elaborate British tea parties, the falls became a popular picnic spot about 1835. Bring your swimsuit to dive under its cascades (but remember to carry an extra set of clothing). If you intend to fish, stop by the sacred river Yamuna, which is 12 km (7.5 mi) from the falls. You will need a permit from the Divisional Forest Officer to fish. You'll find food and game stalls around the area, as well as souvenir shops where you can purchase a Tibetan memento. It is an utter time waste as the area is a ghost of what it used to be earlier. The approach is totally commercialized. The hygiene standards have taken a hit and the water appears murky. At best a... more »
Amazing experience. Had a lot of fun there and made a lot of memories. I'll never forget this experience. But if you're going there have a change of clothes as you will have to pay for it if you don't we had to pay . But it's not a big problem I had fun and using water tube was pretty fun too. Have fun if you are going. Wish you a happy journey
Nice place to visit. Just to take care of children because water is very deep in between. And please take one extra pair of pants/ clothes.. If you are going with children... Because down there.. There is no shop or place to have one.
February is not the time to visit this place. Could have been better but small check dams were open and no water pool to enjoy. The Maggie here is superb. Locker facility available. Changing rooms available. Rope way available.
The place is changed now. You can only enjoy water below the falls. Don't try to eat or buy something near the fall because rates are very much high, instead of that you can purchase or enjoy Maggie near parking or on road shops. Place is amazing and if you want some wooden artifacts for home or office, try looking the shops downstairs the near fall. One important thing is that if you have your own vehicle use government parking which is more cheaper than private parking. They will loot you. You can easily see government parking when you enters on the road. Rates are normal for that place which is 100 rs for 5 hours. Enjoy your visit to uttarakhand. If it's your first time watching a waterfall, it's great. It's exactly as you have seen in picture or heard but there is other side to it as well. Let me explain... This fall is quite popular and commercial. The way to the fall is about 200-300 meters from the road and the whole way is filled with shops on left and right. Every second person trying to sell you something is little annoying for me. Being a nature lover and seeing natural things in their natural way is what I like and this was totally opposite. There are so many poorly built shops around the fall pit. It's becoming more concrete and less nature. Since I have seen waterfalls like Tiger Fall, this one was good but very disappointing because of the it's surroundings.
