Kempty Falls, Mussoorie

(1,500+ reviews on the web)
Waterfall Nature / Park
At Kempty Falls, immerse yourself in the natural wonders which surround this perennial waterfall. Named after elaborate British tea parties, the falls became a popular picnic spot about 1835. Bring your swimsuit to dive under its cascades (but remember to carry an extra set of clothing). If you intend to fish, stop by the sacred river Yamuna, which is 12 km (7.5 mi) from the falls. You will need a permit from the Divisional Forest Officer to fish. You'll find food and game stalls around the area, as well as souvenir shops where you can purchase a Tibetan memento. Make Kempty Falls a centerpiece of your Mussoorie vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Mussoorie family vacation planner.

  • It's a quiet a famous place for tourists. But where there are people there ought to be some garbage but this place didn't have some garbage, it was filled with garbage and it smelled weird. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED. No good parking options and where there is parking it's so costly that you will wonder whether coming here was a good idea. As for me it turned out be a bad one.
  • One of my favorite places to hang out in summer. You can have waist high ponded water flowing slowly. Whole day (5-6 hours) during Summer can be easily spent if you are not particularly very hygienic. Awesome Maggi and Tea stalls.
  • Best place to relax and chill in summers. There are many pools here in kempty falls. You can either go up or down. Most people go downstairs but I would prefer the upper one. Water on the topmost pool is crystal clear. You can even see whats inside the pool - the stones and the tadpoles. The water is chilled plus number of people present are moderate. You can get clothes for bathing and even a tube for children on an economical rent. On the other hand, if you go downstairs, you wont even get a place to properly stand. It is just overcrowded and way too low - you need to get down too many number of stairs to get there. I am uploading photos for both of the pools. Parking facility is available @ Rs 40
  • I was so excited to go there but was totally disappointed when i reached, falls are beautiful but it's too commercialized with shops and stalls covering all the way through it and not even giving a place to stand; also they have converted it into a local pool by providing shops offering clothes to swim and lockers hardly at a distance of few meters from the fall and there is a lot of plastic waste too. They have destroyed the scenic beauty of kempty falls.
  • Lovely Falls. You can take bath for Free of Cost. Fast food is quiet Costly here a bowl of Maggie charged for 80rs. And no taste. But overall its was Awesome. Weather was Lovely.😘😘😍😘😘❤
