Gun Hill, Mussoorie

(2.5/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Particularly popular with photographers, Gun Hill offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, including several ranges of the Himalayas. Take the 20-minute walk from the town center or opt to ride the cable car, whose short route yields a different perspective on the hill station and mountainous landscape. The hill received its name during the colonial era, when a gun mounted at the top of its water reservoir was fired at midday each day, so that residents could adjust their watches. Put Gun Hill at the forefront of your travel plans using our Mussoorie tourist route planner.

  • Its a peak near Mussoori town. A nice food joint with variety of food options. You can view surrounding and Himalaya range through a binoculars. Its a cool and windy place.
  • Its not worth going there and On top it has some shops and no proper view also. And the area is also not clean.

  • *Place you would really love to visit after comin to mussoori. *It is elivated place on hill top which can only be through cable cars and amazing place with great view. * This place has an small games shops where you will really enjoy a lot. GUN HILL is a great place . Just live you moments.
  • Experince to travel in ropeway is good
  • Its a nice walk up if you are on a relaxed trip in Mussoorie. But the traffic is chaos on mall road and vendors are always after your life. Avoid the telescope, they show stupid stuffs like buildings. But a nice place to sit and relax. The games are fun though ;) Cons: food is expensive and inferior, crowded at times. Rope way is a waste of money.
  • Jus love dis place and its weather
  • I'd recommend visiting it atleast once, in spite of the salesmen. On a clear day, the view of the Himalayas from here is something you'd not want to miss. Buy a cup of hot ginger tea and enjoy the view!
