Beautiful trail that takes you to some awesome view points. It's a small trail of 6 km and must do for nature lover.
A 3km trek from the base, this place is totally worth the efforts. The hill is covered with wild strawberries which you can see during may-june. It houses several species of birds including the state bird of Uttarakhand- the Himalayan Monal. You can spot a Monal if you start early in the morning about 4AM from the base point. Monals are extremely shy and can be spotted only by the birders who reach first. From the top of this hill, you can see the snowclad Panchchuli peaks on one side and the beautiful valley on the other side. Trek on this hill is moderate -easy trek. However, one must be very careful, as this place has a lot of leeches (known as jaunkh in local language). So wear full length clothes and covered shoes and carry some salt if possible. The Thamrikund lake is a perennial lake and you can spot birds like Eurasian Jay, Duck, Fulvous Breasted Woodpecker, Cheer Pheasant, Himalayan Griffon, Monal etc. near the lake. The lake looks serene and extremely beautiful with all the flora and fauna. If lucky, you may also spot musk deer. There are two ways of getting to the lake so taking a local guide is advisable. Hope the intel is useful. Vyoma Rao
One of the best nature trail walks. This place crosses a height of 9330 feet as displayed on my GPS. Moderate trek for nature loving people.
3 km tracking from road side where you left the vehicles. In the road there is a guide needed for. The panchachuli looks awesome from the foot way. After 3 km a natural water reservoir which may be a old volcano which is now stores water from nature...
3km trek(one side) from main road,, where you have to leave your vehicle and start the trek.
