  • There is an amusement part around the corner which offers motor boat rides. But you have to walk down some 150 metres and climb back to reach the parking. Slightly difficult for senior citizens.  more »
  • A good place for boating. The lake is not very picturesque but good enough. You will get speedboats and rowboats. During then morning the lines for boating gets long. Afternoos are a bit empty.  more »
  • Okay, so it's just a dam built around a hundred years ago for electric power. The Top station Road runs over it and the dam created lake is fairly large. This is one of the dams that had to be opened ...  more »

  • If you are visiting Munnar, don't forget to visit Mattupetty dam; a must visit place located at just 12KM from Munnar city. The Mattupetty dam is surrounded by green lush jungle and the still water of reserve gives amazing reflection of tree plats. You can experience the nature by walking in surrounding area covered by tree. There is a narrow road passes above the dam separating storage reserve and other part. You will atleast require 2-3 hours of time while exploring Mattupetty Dam and surrounding. You can also enjoy shopping from the small local market located near Mattupetty dam.
  • Really nice place to enjoy with family or just alone. The dam is breathtakingly good and is huge. So even if there are a lot of tourists there is a high chance you will be able to find a quiet place. The dam fills up to the brim during monsoons but during summers its like a huge green park. You can literally drive your vehicles down near the waters at some points. Be warned however that this place is really popular with tourists and expect long jams if you are in a car. There are a lot of shops nearby for grabbing a quick bite.
  • A serene place with a peaceful view. You can go down where the boats can be rented and enjoy the calmness of the plane amidst nature. There a local market too where you can buy home made chocolates. You can see valleys with trees plantation, both sides the water. The only bad is that the authorities have not maintained the place properly and no proper tourist facilities are available.
  • Nice scenic views...you can do boating here and enjoy the scenic beauty.....the speed boat for 5 people will cost rs. 750 in total whereas the normal boat comprising 20 people will cost 120 rs. Each peeson. The super speed boat for 5 people will cost 900 rs. Speed boat riding is a thrilling experience and one must take this experience once...
  • A must place to explore in Munnar. Dam gives a breathtaking view. Peaceful place. Perfect place for picnic with family, partner and friends. Speed boat and pedal boats can give a total different view of dam and surroundings. Apartment from that it is a good place for nature lovers. You can smell the real sand and feel the nature.
