  • It's a beautiful place to tourist. Nestled in the greenish valleys of Munnar, the magical hill station Mattupetty offers tourists a fabulous experience and help them feel the calmness of nature. The undulating tea plantation of the hills here and beautiful rolling grasslands, makes Mattupetty a delightful destination, which deserves a visit. Located approximately 13 km away from Munnar, near to the famous Anamudi Peak, the Mattupetty hill town lies at a height of 1,700 meters. The main attractions of this alluring destination are Mattupetty Dam and Mattupetty lake, that plays an important role in water conservation and power generation.
  • Mattupetty dam is really a pictorial place in Munnar. It is 15 Km from Munnar town and on the way to Top station. You can enjoy in this place 2-3 hrs. Boating option is also available. A lot of vendor is here selling homemade chocolate and food. Really tasty and enjoyed a lot.
  • It's an ordinary dam with some good scenic view around it. Some times if you are lucky you can see elephants and other animals. Please not that since lots of people cones here during holidays, sometimes lots of traffic blocks develop around this area. If there is elephant sighting, then you will have to wait for even one or two hours. The climate is very good. And the view around this area is great. Parking sometimes get very daunting as mostly people have to park at the road side itself.
  • A large reservoir and dam on the way to Top Station. It is one of the common sight seeing points in Munnar which is almost 10km far from the center. The view is much better on the way to this dam. This dam is no extra ordinary. You may walk a bit from the parkin to reach the dam. There is small market for handicrafts, chocolates and tea. Paddle boating is available around rs 150/person.
  • A decent point with very little to see tough. Up ahead echo point would give you much better view. If you stop here do go to the dam view point which will give you a great view of the reservoir lake and the surroundings as shown in the pic...............
