Attukal Waterfalls, Munnar

(3.5/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web)
Take a trip to Attukal Waterfalls and have a picnic by the rushing cascades. Located 9 km (5.5 mi) away from the hill station, the waterfalls offer an idyllic spot for relaxation, hiking, and photography. Drive up the waterfall area to see the cascade from afar, or trek downhill to the natural basin to cool off and have a dip in the chilly water. During drier weather the falls still make a picturesque place, but they appear in full glory during the monsoon season (June through August), when they roar thunderously down the rough slope of the lush green hills. Take a look at our Munnar tourist route planner to schedule your visit to Attukal Waterfalls and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • I loved it the roads.. Waterfall.. You can enjoy waterfall by having a coffee or Chai... One stall is there nearby..
  • We did not follow the conventional road to that place and took a detour from the pothamedu viewpoint and walked to this place. The journey was very exciting to say the least as we walked through the tea gardens of munnar. The falls are not big but the surroundings and journey definitely make it a place worth visiting.
  • Access to the waterfall from road is close by but is tricky. Not much water flow other than the rainy seasons... Situated inside tata tea estate. Drive to this place is nice.
  • Beautiful place.... we can enjoy the waterfalls with food and coffee... very small and dangerous road better to avoid big vehicles..
  • Very Nice place to visit, best is to visit with extra pair of clothes. moderate climate and very cold water!!!
