St. Thomas Cathedral Mumbai, Mumbai

4.6
Begun in 1672, St. Thomas Cathedral Mumbai remains the oldest British-era building still standing in the city--it's also its first Anglican church. • A really beautiful church. It's well maintained and has good security. It's one of the oldest church in Mumbai and it's a must visit during Christmas and other festivals. It has great architectural features and anybody with such interests should visit the church
  • This charming cathedral is the oldest British-era building standing in Mumbai and the city's first Anglican church: it was once the eastern gateway of the East India Company’s fort (the ‘Churchgate’ itself). The cathedral is a marriage of Byzantine and colonial-era architecture, and its airy interior is full of grandiose colonial memorials.
  • The experience of visiting this cathedral full of history and culture that is in our very city is just mesmerizing. The walls are laden with plaques decorating and celebrating officers who fought in the Indian army at that time and did some very heroic things. They have regular Anglican service also.
  • The aura here is magical. It is a very nice place to sit and ponder on thoughts and offer a little prayer. The priest here is a really nice person to have a chat with, learn more about the church. And as with any colonial cathedral, the architecture is absolutely beautiful.
  • Great place. ! No more words to explain .Constructed in 1718,I visited in 2018 ,after 300 years of construction ,still as good as new. Marvelous example of church.Grandarches, beautiful interiors ,vastness of space ,high quality wood and metal work.Everyone should visit .
