Aksa Beach, Mumbai

3.9
#3 of 12 in Beaches in Mumbai
Unplug and enjoy the breeze at Aksa Beach, a clean and less crowded beach in Malad near Mumbai. This huge stretch of brown sand has long shallows but the sea can get rough so swimming is not an option. Snails and shells are washed by waves on the sand and there are ample stalls selling beach snacks. A popular weekend spot for youngsters, the beach has many private cottages and hotels. An Indian Navy base is located at the end of the beach. Use our Mumbai trip builder website to arrange your visit to Aksa Beach and other attractions in Mumbai.

  • Clean beach as compare to others. Wonderful place to visit. It is a popular weekend destination . It is dotted with many private cottages and hotels. Good place to enjoy sunset 😍 and family fun🤗
  • Beautiful beach. Much cleaner than I expected. If you walk to one end, you can even collect sea shells, take a walk or enjoy the sunset.
  • I have been here for so many times. It's place with beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Perfect place for early morning walks and running. You get coconut water and snacks easily near the beach. It's clean as compared to other Mumbai beaches. Just be careful of small glass pieces from the garbage near the beach when walking bare feet.
  • Beautiful places - clean water as compared to other beaches in Mumbai. But it usually takes time to reach here mainly on weekends. Gets crowded later in the evening. Parking is another issue. Good to see Sunrise and sunset. Needs some maintenance.
  • It's indeed one of the most scenic beaches in the state and certainly the best in Mumbai. Also it's usually clean and welcoming with the relative absence of the crowd that greets such a place. But it's isolated and there's often loads of trouble to get an auto/bus from here. So better have your private vehicle or be ready to walk 3 kilometres to Marve beach (not always, but likely on Sundays and holidays). Also it's notorious for deaths due to drowning. But you can't blame the beach for that, can you?

Where to stay in Mumbai

In a cramped city like Mumbai, finding a budget hotel can present a serious challenge. Many business travelers and tourists choose to stay in South Mumbai, the oldest and richest neighborhood in the city. Accommodations here put you close to most top museums, restaurants, bars, art galleries, and shops. Proximity to major attractions comes at a premium price, though--not surprising for one of the most expensive cities in Asia. If you plan to visit on a tight budget, look for options near railway stations, but prepare for low-grade rooms and few or no amenities.
