  • Mumbai wankhede stadium is nothing less than a temple for cricket lovers. It is known as cricket's paradise of india,as india started its historic era of cricketing world. It has given Sachin,Rohit,And ...  more »
  • Needs major upgrades for accessing the stadium. The state of stairs and entrances is terrible. Need more from a world class venue.
  • It is a huge stadium and offers good views from all levels. They have food stands and several exits. The toilets are awful though.

  • Built by the Bombay cricket association in the mid 1970s following a fallout with the Cricket Club of India (CCI) this stadium has a relatively small playing field and the seating facilities outside the main pavilion area are cramped. It housed the 2011 World Cup final won by the Indian team; this stadium's main claim to fame. This stadium has been renovated and now it's worth going there to see the match and wittiness some of the great talents produced by the country. One must reach the stadium 2hrs prior to the match as it gets very crowded. You cannot carry eatables inside, only your mobile phone. The capacity of the stadium is around 35000. Inside eatables are expensive, they charge more than twice of the actual price.
  • This stadium is just awesome for its environment, location, history and the spirit of cricket it inspires. The renovated design has given the stadium a novel contemporary look. I would give five stars but the seating arrangement needs significant improvement. It looks like revising the seating arrangement wasn't in their renovation plan. For instance, if you unfortunately get allocated a seat in the upper rows (around 3-5 rows!) of the lower decks of any of the stands, half of your ground view would be blocked by the slab of the upper deck - you'd be able to view only the grounded shots. To block your view even more, there will be walls and columns that support the upper decks. Now if you get the extreme lower rows (first 2-3 rows) then you'd find yourself posited lower than the pitch, your view of the field will be blocked by the boundary blockades, the wire mesh barricade, fielders, policemen and people walking (vendors). That apart, this is a great venue!
  • Its a cricket stadium located next to the Marine Drive and the Church Gate train station (on the western line of the Mumbai local train network). After renovation the stadium looks awesome. I watched few high profile test matches in the stadium. Make sure that you purchase the ticket from the right source. You can see thugs roaming around the stadium trying to sell you tickets at four or five times the actual price of the ticket. Beware of such people - the ticket you purchase from them (paying a higher price) are actually not genuine. Food items, water and hand bag of any kind are not allowed. I have seen people dropping their handbags and backpacks just before the entrance and there is no security for such left items. You are bound to eat and drink what is sold inside the stadium. The quality of food (Cold drinks and pizzas from reputed companies to mention a few) is extremely bad. My overall experience was good if you can ignore the quality of food. I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars.
  • Wankhede stadium is nicely built in the heart of Mumbai after renovation it looks very beautiful now the stadium has capacity of 33108 as per information by Wikipedia, stadium is established in year 1974 it is one of the oldest stadium in India having so many records of International as well as Domestic cricket match ,the first test match in Wankhede stadiumseen live between India and West Indies in January 1975 then after it is used for ODI Cricket and also for T20 cricket. The ground is located near the Marine Lines in Mumbai, the stadium is selected to host the final of  ODI World Cup 2011 that is the reason for which it is redesigned and redeveloped.
