Where to stay in Mumbai (Bombay)

In a cramped city like Mumbai, finding a budget hotel can present a serious challenge. Many business travelers and tourists choose to stay in South Mumbai, the oldest and richest neighborhood in the city. Accommodations here put you close to most top museums, restaurants, bars, art galleries, and shops. Proximity to major attractions comes at a premium price, though--not surprising for one of the most expensive cities in Asia. If you plan to visit on a tight budget, look for options near railway stations, but prepare for low-grade rooms and few or no amenities.

  • St. Michael's Church is a peaceful respite in a enveloping haze of near-constant activity. The oldest church in Mumbai, known for its miracles I believe it is a must visit (after you see some of the o...  more »

  • I personally received a lot of love and belongingness from this church. To begin as child my mother used to tag me along for novenas on Wednesdays. Life too drifted along with time. Then it is on every visit of my mother from Canada, that a trip to this church was possible. Otherwise during my hard times, I remember coming here and arguing with my saviour,as to why our family was this way. Now since last Christmas I have been coming here everyday for mass,Wednesday novena, and even Sunday mass. It has changed me a lot. At the same time I would appreciate a dear friend staying in my society, she ELIZABETH is the person who guided me with her advise to St.Michael's church. I am glad and deeply indebted to her and my mother for guiding my path to this miraculous church. In my condition having met with three accidents, with no digits on my left feet, only four on my right and a broken and cracked left knee,I have been visiting this place everyday.Initially, I came on crutches, today I travel to and fro without it much better than before. Its been 5_months am of alcohol without any craving for it. Grace of my lord and saviour only. This is a testimony of mine,in short lot of it still there to share.
  • Good thing to know that people still have time to worship God in midst of chaos of city. People pray by their heart. Good place to pray in peace. Masses as of intermediate length . Also u may see smiling faces all around the church.
  • A place where you can come up with tensions and go by with peace! Happy to see people's come here to pray even if they are busy! I seriously felt so good and forgot all of my hectic problems and tensions! And went with a happy mood funny to know that may be god vanished it or the magic of this place!
  • .. Great arrangements made inside the church...but some attention has to b given at the entrance gate where scooters and bikes are parked just anyhow. Making it very difficult to exit...no ushers out there..and an excess can b seen inside and all over the church and compound....can do better
  • One of the oldest church of Mumbai. People come to visit this place of worship irrespective is religion. Parking is literally not possible here since the roads surrounding it is confined.
