Malabar Hill, Mumbai (Bombay)

(3.9/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
An elite and exclusive neighborhood of Mumbai, Malabar Hill feels like different city. This untouristed enclave of the high and mighty of the city's financial and social world makes for a dazzling stroll and popular weekend picnic spot. Watch the locals with their children relaxing on the public beach, stop in the magnificent Jain temple, and meander the many gardens and little cafes on the main road. The area requires quite a bit of walking, so bring water. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Mumbai (Bombay) holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Malabar Hill and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • I think it's the only place where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Mumbai from above. You can see the whole promenade of Mumbai which is really nice and enjoyable, except for the beach and the sea really dirty. We were there during low tide and we marveled at how a city like Mumbai do not have a cleaning service of one of its finest attractions. On the hill there are gardens that can be worth a little walk if you have time, but nothing fancy. I repeat, the hill only applies to the view for Mumbai.
