  • I went to Mumbai. Jijamata Udyan is another name for the Victoria Gardens, situated in the Byculla area of Mumbai. It is basically a zoo and a garden, which was laid out in the year 1861. Victoria Gar...  more »

  • The Place is Okay! Neat and Cleanliness Place... Gardens For Friends and Family But No balls Are Allowed in Zoo And The Policemen are So rude... They take the precious things.. and Didn't give us... Such Mighty Rude Policemen..... They also didn't care about others Things and all... ..ii..
  • The Garden are well Maintained and really relaxing. Great Zoo to visit with family 👪. The variety of animals are good. New animals added are PENGUIN 🐧 absolutely free to watch but has a very long Queue. The inner Washroom of the zoo is clean.
  • This place is beginning to get better. I can not assure a very good time at the zoo. It is okay. But you can go see the penguins. But this zoo and botanical gardens is a great place for morning walks. You can get a pass made for a meagre Rs. 30 per month. Make sure you carry your pass in the mornings (yes, they do check it). The timing is 6 - 8:30.
  • Good place for kids to enjoy for a day. The attractions are Penguins, hippocampus and variety of birds. But overall it's not maintained well. It can be way better than what they have now.
  • Animal enclosures are in bad shape. Not many animals were there, but there were many birds. The building for the penguins was nice (since it's new) and is the only thing worth visiting. The gardens are well maintained and toilets are clean.

Where to stay in Mumbai (Bombay)

In a cramped city like Mumbai, finding a budget hotel can present a serious challenge. Many business travelers and tourists choose to stay in South Mumbai, the oldest and richest neighborhood in the city. Accommodations here put you close to most top museums, restaurants, bars, art galleries, and shops. Proximity to major attractions comes at a premium price, though--not surprising for one of the most expensive cities in Asia. If you plan to visit on a tight budget, look for options near railway stations, but prepare for low-grade rooms and few or no amenities.
