Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (Bombay)
(4.2/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Witness the work of artists from all around India at Jehangir Art Gallery, one of the nation's most prestigious art galleries. The country's artists all aspire to one day have their work displayed here. Built in 1952, it represents one of the first concrete structures in the city. Inside, find four exhibition halls, which combined total about 785 sq m (8,458 sq ft) of floor space and 80 m (853 ft) of running wall space. Stop by the onsite cafe, something of an institution in itself, linked to the socialist culture of the 1970s. • The place is a good place if you have relatives in the city. people who like buying paintings will love it with so many options to chose from. The place is in Colaba and walkable from Taj and gateway.
  • Its a good place to take your relatives. Children might get bored and the best place for people who love to buy paintings.Often there are exhibitions which are advertised in the news paper.

  • Jehangir Art Gallery is one of Mumbai's oldest art galleries. Located at the art district of Kala Ghoda. The gallery has three spaces- for showcasing artworks. Two of them on the ground floor. Third one on the first floor (its called Hirji Gallery). Usually about five exhibitions are held simultaneously. Exhibitions change every week (mostly on Mondays). Getting to Kala Ghoda: 1) Nearest Railway stations are: Churchgate CST 2) Nearest Landmark: Regal cinema (10 minutes walking from Regal) It is well connected with trains/buses/taxis.
  • The best of art gallery in Mumbai. Beautiful and the place where it is located the best. Mostly college kids also visit there.
  • Naam jaisa hai...
  • Jehangir Art Gallery is an iconic spot for both artist and art lovers! They have a great Art Store... It is extremely sad that SAMOVAR, one-of-a-kind restaurant, where budding Bollywood stars and struggling artists hobnobbed for a coffee or a pint of beer!
  • Loved it. India's one of the best Art gallery. A place to visit.
