Where to stay in Mumbai (Bombay)

In a cramped city like Mumbai, finding a budget hotel can present a serious challenge. Many business travelers and tourists choose to stay in South Mumbai, the oldest and richest neighborhood in the city. Accommodations here put you close to most top museums, restaurants, bars, art galleries, and shops. Proximity to major attractions comes at a premium price, though--not surprising for one of the most expensive cities in Asia. If you plan to visit on a tight budget, look for options near railway stations, but prepare for low-grade rooms and few or no amenities.

  • This tank holds a religious importance for people. Also known for the legend of God extracting sweet water with an arrow. Nothing spectacular or of architectural splendour.

  • Things are changing at banganga it getting cleaner and getting built properly do visit to feel the difference feels like it's not mumbai
  • Nice place to visit. Children bath there and you can see many ducks overthere. Good place for photography too. If you're in Mumbai you should visit this place. This is a very old tank built in 19th century and still the water in it is good. Overall a good place.
  • Place is ok. Not very much maintained. However good to know about the story of the tank. Surroundings will give a feeling of old Mumbai, even after being on a very expensive and modern part of South Mumbai. Not good to go for elders as there are some big stairs to climb down.
