Dudhsagar Falls, Mollem National Park

4.3
#1 of 21 in Nature in Goa
Waterfall · Nature / Park
The tallest waterfall in India, Dudhsagar Falls is fed by the Mandovi River, which swells us massively with monsoon rain water. With an average width of 30 m (100 ft) and height of 310 m (1017 ft), the four-tiered waterfall truly inspires with its grand size. Many tour operators offer monsoon treks to this spot--the waterfall is at its most impressive during the wet season. The surrounding deciduous forests shelter rich plant and animal life. • Tourists cannot go directly to this place driving their own vehicles. Because road going to this place is under forest department & it has small river in between without concrete bridge. We can take bolero car on rent with their driver. They charge Rs. 500 per person for two side journey. It takes approx. 45 minutes to reach to actual destination from base. Journey is pleasant as it goes through jungle & small river & ponds. Life jacket is mandatory for going there. They charge 50 rupees per life jacket. It looks stunning when you reach there. Waterfalls & train going through middle of waterfalls. Nice place to see. Loved it!
  • Nice place for a half day trip in Goa. Be sure to arrive by 10am to the ticket counter. It gets hot in the afternoon so going early is recommended. A 10 min trek from the parking area leads you to the milky falls.

  • What a wonderful day out. Buy some peanuts & bananas for your trip. The jeep drivers are great & give a very good talk on the way up to the jungle. The breed of monkey you get to meet are friendly & will open your hand if you are holding some nuts. They don’t like you taking water bottles up into the jungle, but fresh coconuts with the wonderful milk for you to sup so you are hydrated for the trip are on offer while you wait for your journey. As you are dropped Of you are given an hour to explore. So get to the falls as quickly as you can. So you can see the splendid carp in the water & like I did take a dip in the refreshing waters. Then you can walk back taking in the sites, feeding monkeys before the marvellous jeep journey out of the forest. A great experience, do try
  • Awesome place, the journey is also interesting. You cannot drive your car as the roads are too bumpy. There are no shops near the water fall, so better carry your own food n water.
