  • While it is supposed to be incomparable for birding during the migration season, they don't allow you into the core area where you will find the most interesting birds. They overcharge for cars, especially on Sundays. They wrongly charge a fee, which is supposed to be for commercial photography, for cameras if you're carrying a DSLR, even if you are an amateur, private wildlife enthusiast. Counterproductive, if their objectives are conservation and education. Another off-putting aspect is the sheer number of raucous families, unruly teenagers and collegians, and hilarious lovebirds. Unless you are obsessed about birding like me, it's not worth spending time or money to be treated the same as these sociopaths while paying more than them and staying disciplined. I'm going to complain to the Conservator of Forests.
  • Naturally best place to visit after rainy season...many kind of birds travelling to here from other places during migration time. > Entry fee = 40/- (For Indian), 50/- on Sunday. > In concert with Professional camera they charge extra fee. > If you are planning to visit this place so carry food with you.
  • Very amezing.. .. nyc place to sit back n relex.... Also .. very good for photographers who loves extraordinary views.. .
  • Thol Lake Bird Sanctuary is the perfect place to be at! Situated about 40kms from Ahmedabad, Thol is a freshwater lake that is surrounded by marshland. The picture perfect setting has made this a home to about 100 species of birds and quite a popular place for bird watching in Gujarat. Cranes, geese, flamingoes, pelicans, egrets, herons, spoonbills, ducks, whistling teals and many other migratory birds nest and breed here. Thol Lake Bird Sanctuary also makes for a great getaway from the maddening rush of the city; the place is just so serene and beautiful that you would wish to stay a bit longer each time you visit here.
  • A really great bird sanctuary. Amazing lake and views. Really fresh air. Ban on plastic bags really has kept the place clean.
