Kateel Shri Durgaparameshwari Temple, Mangalore

4.7
Pay your respect to the goddess Durga or just enjoy the serene ambience of sacredness at Kateel Shri Durgaparameshwari Temple. Watch the holy river of Nandini from the banks of the islet on which the temple lies. The story goes that a sage pleaded with the goddess Durga to help relieve the people from drought, who requested her daughter Nandini to assist the sage. As Nandini was unwilling to come to Earth, the sage cursed her to become a river. See the ancient architecture of the red temple. Participate in the festival of ‘Yakashagana’, a form of tribute to the goddess where devotees dance, sing, and act in mythological plays. • Awesome great Temple. It's a huge beautiful temple. They do annasantarpane every day I think just 200meter from a temple you will need pass the river by there by a bridge. The great God Durga temple. Really you feel relaxed There. But please maintain cleanliness.
  • Located around 30km from the city, it provides a calm and a peaceful environment for the devotees. Everything in this temple happens in a systematic and an orderly fashion. The temple provides food for its devotees, both in the afternoon as well as the evening. The food is prepared in hygeinic conditions. Kudos to the temple management for maintaining this temple in a well mannered way.
  • Super and very big and beautiful temple. Has good nature. Around this temple water flows. And dasoha is there .
  • So divine place, bit maintenance could be better (but we can't expect more because state govt is looking after maintenance) but otherwise... It's a temple full of vibrations...
  • It's a good place to visit, here you don't see long ques and paid entries, even they serve free meals for devotees, it is one of old temple in DK.
