Castle · Architectural Building
Explore luxurious sandstone pavilions and dip into the water of a royal beach at Vijay Vilas Palace, a huge Indo-European style complex serving as the former summer palace of the rulers of Kutch. Spanning 182 ha (450 ac), the sea-beach resort features exquisite late colonial architecture and a privately owned beach. Built between 1920 and 1929, the complex was designed as a royal guest camp, with tent accommodation on the beach. Admire the palace's elaborate, British-style wooden furniture and European interiors as you explore. The golden-sand beach offers a thatched restaurant with sweeping views of the ocean and a volleyball court. You can also arrange camel rides along the beach and boat tours. • The Palace is good but it needs to be maintained perfectly. There were many places which were not clean and the fountains were not working. Viewing spots from the palace are great you can see the sea from the top of the Palace.
  • Place is good. Maintained well. Approachability needs to be improved from the road. It is not wheel chair friendly. Senior citizens struggle a little. Restrooms are not maintained considering the great number of people that come in.
  • The architecture of the palace is amazing! If you're in Kutch and a fan of old architecture, you must visit this place. The maintenance of this place is not up to the mark. They could've made it so much better. The upkeep of the gardens is not great either. But a wonderful place to see how the kings and queens of India lived. I was also disappointed by the fact that they don't have a guide or snippets of the highlights of this kingdom written somewhere. Things that one of the king's would've accomplished or would've been known for. The terrace is the best part of the palace and the overall vibe of the place is great! Do visit.
  • This palace is situated in the outskirt of Mandvi town. This palace is highly maintained and the things used by the royal family are preserved in proper care. The royal family art and culture are depicted in this palace. People visit this place for photography and for marriage event video shooting. Visit this place with family and friends. Enjoy the beach and resort present here.
  • Very calm and distant palace ... You can enjoy the cool breezes even on hot summer while savouring the history of bhuj.. place is well maintained... Facility of food, water, restrooms and parking is available... Overall a very good experience for all age people
