Marvel at a partially frozen surface of Bhrigu Lake, located at the end of a challenging Himalayan hike. At around 4,300 m (14,000 ft) above sea level and surrounded by snow-covered slopes, the lake offers fabulous views of local scenery. The trek, a popular activity with nature lovers and adventurers, takes visitors through a verdant forest of fir, spruce, and birch, as well as across lush meadows. Close to the Rohtang Pass, the lake is nestled among high rugged peaks and, according to local legend, never freezes completely because its waters are sacred. • Amazing place to visit. 26 km 2 nights 3 days trek. Amazing surroundings, it's not an easy trek. Breath taking view. The trek of 26km is worth when you see the lake. Please take less cloths make your bag light. The water there is too cold and you do not get woods to warm the water so you are not going to take bath anyway. Keep your bag as light as possible. Your guide will carry your food, tents and beddings. We went there in the month of June and it was very cold all our cloths were wet in the bag.
  • The trek leading to the lake was a fantastic one but we personally got a bit disappointed seeing the size of that lake, might be a better decision to trek it in the winters. But nevertheless, a journey we thoroughly enjoyed.
  • It was a achievement to go there. I feel that life is beautiful when i saw the lake first. Although it was a tough tracking route but after reached the place you can feel the happiness.
  • Brighu Lake is a lake located at an elevation of around 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located to the east of Rohtang Pass and is around 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from Gulaba village. It can be reached by trekking either from the Vashishth temple, which is famous for its hot water springs, which is close to the town of Manali or from Gulaba village. Actually there is no settlement in Gulaba and is actually an area of the Pir Panjal mountain range. It is named after Maharishi Bhrigu.
