#1 of 7 in Sightseeing in Malvan
Ruin Historic Site
Admire the daunting walls and intelligent engineering of Sindhudurg Fort, a 17th-century fortification built on an islet in the Arabian Sea. The fortress covers 19.4 hectares (48 acres), and its huge, 3 km (1.8 mi) long, 9.1 m (30 ft) high brick rampart offers ample defense from invaders and the sea. Enjoy some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the country around the islet, observing diverse marine life, or simply wander around the richly historical site, observing the fascinating building work. Consider bargaining with your boat ride for more time exploring the island. Arrange to visit Sindhudurg Fort and other attractions in Malvan using our Malvan vacation trip planner.

  • Gr8 for adventure lovers.. Historical.place.. Gr8 view of endless sea and seashore from fort. Gr8 architectural masterpiece.. Photography enthusiastic peoples must visit fr some gr8 shots
  • As fort there is nothing to see. Only fort's wall remaining to see as a fort. But view from this fort is amazing. Fort in the middle of sea is always wonder to see.
  • This giant Fort right in between the ocean is amazing. Spent so much time there (I missed the ferry back), just walking around and getting lost in the heritage structure of the bygone era. Definitely a must visit. It's kind a crowded though, but you can find your spot by moving away from the crowd and soaking in the beautiful view from the top.
  • Very nice place. One can feel the history her in it's winds, walls, environment. Wonderful place to watch Sunset.
  • Surfing, diving, parasailing are some of the activities that you should try here. Taking a boat ride to go to court is one of the adventurous part here. Walking on Fort and watching the waves going to a height of 30-40 feet is a breathtaking view. If you are going to visit this place don't forget to take slow motion videos of it. It will be top priority thing that you should do here. Also the nearest beach that you can visit is Tarkarli Beach, which is one of the pristine beaches here. Wishing you a nice and pleasant journey. Please don't forget to mark this as helpful if you found so.
