  • This is said to one of the oldest and unconquered fort of its time. The concept of having a fort on an island is itself amazing. Place is good for people interested in historic places, for others its ...  more »
  • One of the strongest fort which could never be conquered. The fort is approachable only with sail boats in calm sea. Our visit was after monsoon and hence there was a lot of vegetation inside the fort...  more »

  • Massive fort built in the middle of the sea. It's a marvel, architectural miracle. The walls of the fort are so high and massive, one may faint looking at them from the boats during docking. The fort design is elegant, it's almost impossible for a stranger to guess the location/position of the fort entrance without getting really close to the fort. That makes getting into the fort tricky. It is also tricky because once you arrive at the entrance, you realize that there's almost no space to dock the boat, and the water is wavy so you kind of have to jump from the boat - often getting half-wet. This was apparently a strategy to make the fort almost impossible to breach. And as a matter of fact, it never was breached! Once you get in, it's a whole city inside. The remains are beautiful and historic. Do climb to the highest point right in the middle of the fort for spectacular views of the sea, nearby Murud town and other hamlets. This fort is a must visit!
  • Very crowded place and nothing to see.. don't drive all the way .. u will not miss anything.. it's just not maintained.. Am sure it would have been a amazing fort in the ancient days.. sadly we have not maintained the beauty.. love the forts of Rajasthan it's a sight to explore..
  • It's not made by shivaji maharaj it's made by sidi johare best place to see.don,t come in monson season.
  • Very bad arrangement. Be prepared to stand 2 hours in queue. Only two boats are operating. Each with capacity of forty. But boat returns after almost one hour.
  • History is awesome.. huge fort.. high waves .. amazing boat ride to & from fort .. under water Secret sneak out .. historical incredible India ..
